My Local Data
Official data shows what was recorded. My Local Data is designed to show what people are actually experiencing locally — from safety concerns and household energy costs to access to health services.
Built for My Area
Local experience, not just national averages
We collect anonymous local data from people just like you to create a more complete picture of what life is really like in different areas. This will help people understand how their experience compares with official data and with other communities.
Coming Soon:
- Community Safety
- Health Access Tracker
Modules
Three ways you can contribute real-world data
The 'My Local Data' project will launch with the Energy Reality Check module, which allows you to share your household energy costs and usage. We will then add more modules on topics like community safety and health access, so you can share your experience in those areas too.
Safety & unreported crime
Community Safety Pulse
Share how safe your area feels and whether crime or anti-social behaviour is going unreported.
Bills, usage & affordability
Energy Reality Check
Compare real household energy bills with similar homes. You do not need to know your tariff to get started.
GP access & waiting experience
Health Access Tracker
Share broad, non-diagnostic information about how long it took to access GP or NHS support.
Data principles
Keep trust at the centre
My Local Data in intended to be useful to you. We do not collect any identifyable information and we will never share individual responses. We will only share aggregated insights where there is enough data to protect anonymity and show confidence intervals. We are committed to being transparent about our methods and to continuously improving the system based on user feedback.
Anonymous by design
The system will avoid names, full addresses, account numbers, NHS numbers and exact incident locations.
Useful before detailed
Visitors will get value from simple answers first, with optional detail only where it improves the result.
Community data, not official data
Results will be clearly labelled as community-reported experience and shown with sample-size confidence.
